Healthy foods and beverages can also work as your effective stress-busters with the additional advantage of easily getting incorporated in our lifestyle. You can keep your energy level up the entire day with some healthy eatables and drinks that boost your body’s strength and potential.

Here, we are going to take you through a journey expounding some Ayurvedic concepts that will be eye-openers for you to redefine your erroneous lifestyle. We will also recommend some ayurvedic drinks that can help keep the ‘tridoshas’ in your body in harmony and contribute in keeping diseases at bay.

As per the teachings of Ayurveda, there are two kinds of ‘Sharira’, the equivalent for our physical body. The ‘Sthula Sharira’ or Gross body is constituted by a blend of ‘panchambhoota’ or five universal elements, namely, Earth (Prithvi), Water (Jala), Fire (Agni), Air (Vayu) and Space (akash). On the other hand, ‘Sukshma Sharira’ or Subtle body is constituted by the five jnanaindriya or sense organs, the five tanmatras (subtle elements), the five karmaindriyas or motor organs, mahat or intellect, ahamkara or ego and manas or mind.

Focusing on ‘Sthula Sharira’ or Gross body, for the time being, Ayurveda emphasizes the presence of three tridoshas or humors, viz., Vata, Pitta and Kapha in our body. Vata is the force of energy associated with motion, composed of the two elements - Air and Space. Pitta is the force composed of the two elements - Fire and Water whereas Kapha is the force of energy determining the body’s structure composed of the two elements - Earth and Water.

Balances within the internal constituents of the tridoshas, between Air & Space, Fire & Water and Earth & Water as well as among the three tridoshas, Vata, Pitta and Kapha are indispensable for the sustenance of a healthy state of being. The three tridoshas are also responsible for their movement throughout our body and the activation of the other body constituents. Therefore, any kind of disturbance in the desired harmonies results in disorders and diseases. Furthermore, although the tridoshas – Vata, Pitta and Kapha are present as subtle forms of energy throughout our whole body, each dosha predominates in a distinct field of action. Vata is dominant in the large intestine, Pitta is dominant in the stomach and Kapha is dominant in the heart. In other terms, each dosha has distinctive affinities for certain bodily organs as Vata is present in the lower part, Pitta is present in the middle part and Kapha is present in the upper part of the body.

You can go through the table below to learn about symptoms caused with excessive Vata, Pitta and Kapha.
